Project Overview

Shanghai Jiehao Biotechnology Co., Ltd. has successfully undertaken and completed the stainless steel airtight housing project for the P3 biosafety laboratory located at the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products. This project is a key facility of China National Biotec Group and marks the establishment of the first enterprise-operated P3 laboratory in the field of human infectious diseases in China. It has a comprehensive testing capability from the cellular level to the level of non-human primates, effectively supporting the preclinical research and development of vaccines for emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.

Project Execution Scope

As a professional contractor for bio-sealed rooms, we were responsible for the following key tasks:

- Designing and constructing the stainless steel airtight enclosure structure for the P3 laboratory.

- Manufacturing and installing key facilities such as biosafety airtight doors and biosafety transfer windows.

Technical Implementation

- We used SUS304 stainless steel material, ensuring the hygiene standards and corrosion resistance of the sealed rooms.

- Full welding design was achieved using robotic welding technology, meeting the laboratory's strict sealing requirements.

- The project's design and manufacturing strictly followed the biosafety level 3 protection GB19489/50346 standard.

Safety and Compliance

The project passed the constant pressure method test by the National Inspection Center in March 2021, complying with the biosafety level 3 protection standard, and obtained national-level safety and quality recognition.

Outcomes and Impact

Since June 13, 2021, the P3 laboratory has been fully operational, focusing on technical support for COVID-19 vaccine production, neutralizing antibody testing, and variant strain research, providing a valuable scientific research platform for the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
